Zekka is a unique mens clothing store centred in the heart of the city. The store cleverly combines a classy mens clothing store with a cafe at the rear. A lightwell above the cafe draws you in from the street and encourages visitors to relax and recharge. The site had previously been used as a gallery and a bar, so the transformation was extensive. The retail area is defined by the use of 3m high panels of coloured glass, supported by cantilevered steel from the existing building structure. The entrance passage was ramped and paved to resemble the footpath of King Street. The design for the outlet was produced by Matthews Architecture and constructed by Habitat 1.
