HSUWA represents the health professional sector within the health industries of WA. They approached Habitat 1 to investigate the design possibilities of refurbishing their building both inside and out.
The complete ‘old school’ red brick refurbishment consisted of 2 stages.
Stage 1 – Internal Works
302sqm of 1st floor space.
The design brought the building up to compliance standards, including a new lift, staircase, entry lobby and services upgrades. HSUWA wanted to integrate their corporate branding with brand coloured carpet feature inlays, decorative lighting and joinery. The end result is warm and welcoming for clients and staff through the use of subtle joinery elements, colours and living plants.
Stage 2 – External Works
232sqm ground and building façade.
The new front façade of the building would have anyone thinking the building was built this year. The use of Novabond cladding, the contrasting colours and new windows makes an impressive statement.
